Firstly, thanks for the info on the fuel pump. I will seek out the Bosch units locally and if un-obtainable I will contact SJS.
Another problem I need to address is the A/C system. During our warm months, (which in Houston is most of the year), the A/C unit will blow cool air for a short period of time then blow out warm air. If the car is allowed to sit for a short period the air will again blow cool for a period. I had the A/C charged and tightened the connections at the compressor. The system appears to be in working order. Any ideas?

If the evaporator core is dirty it may ice up and not let air throught the core. cooling is then restored when it defrosts a bit.

Will, or is the core capable of icing up when it's 100 deg. outside? If all is needed is a shot with a power sprayer I will be most overjoyed.

Hi,

It sounds like a faulty low-pressure switch to me. If this switch energizes it will cut out the compressor, which is it's function to protect the compressor should a loss of refrigerant/oil occur. Once the car sits, the switch de-energizes and your cooling returns. This switch is located just off the receiver/dryer inside the front boot.

Calvin's diagnosis is sound but I have had tons of experience with icing AC's in Hotels I've run in the south and it takes much more than a short stop to have it thaw out, usually several hours. Happy Motoring!...Jim'85TE

Also check the dash control switch, as this controls the cycle time for the compressor. You may just have dirty contacts or a bad switch
