Seat question

I've found a black tube with a brass coupling on the end, comming out of the front of each seat. Not a clue what it does. Any thoughts???

There is an inflatable lumbar support in the seatback. The fitting you describe connects to a nylon tube that goes into the support. There is supposed to be a small squeeze bulb attached to the fitting to allow you to pump up the lumbar support, but no doubt it is gone. Not unusual. Replacements should be readily available from Lotus suppliers.
