I am having chip number #2 installed on my 90 esprit se, does anyone know or have experence in how long does it take for the ecu computer to read the new code, I was told it may take a week or two or 25 miles in driving before ecu reads the new chip, also is there a special procedre to start up the chip I was told you have press the accelator all the way down a couple of times and make sure the throttle opens up all the way for the ecu to read the new chip while the key is in the ignition. thanks

Just disconnect your battery or pull the ECU fuse. Then replace the chip. Once installed start driving around varying load and throttle posistions, i.e., drive it in a variety of situations. You'll notice a difference very quickly. You may have some idle problems for the first few minutes or some hesitation but it will go away in due time. You'll like it,

Install the chip and start the car. the idle will be rough. let it warm up to operating temperature. While doing this, switch the AC on and off every couple minutes. Let the car learn how to idle with the AC on and off. Once at operating temperature, Take her out. I did a good 5 miles of just cruising with some light boosting. It'll take a couple miles but after that you should start to see the benefits/difference.
