The internal switch to turn the main driving lights on has died. Took it in to the shop and got the meter on it to confirm that it is the switch and nothing else electrical. Are these switches a GM part or a Lotus one. Been waiting for a new one to arrive through our servicing guy and its taken since Nov last year to arrive and still waiting, service for parts is very poor here . I am going to buy my own if it dosent get here by next week as I am getting annoyed. Thought if its a GM part may be able to get locally or will ask SJSportcars.

I had this switch go out on my '89 non-SE. I just bought one from the Lotus dealership. The switch switches several relays at a time so its hard to tell which part of it has gone out. But SJS probably has it.

The switches are used on Range Rovers (1986 to 1993) and on a lot of other UK BL / Rover cars like the Montego, Maestro etc…

I think the Range Rover switch is used for the auxiliary driving lights (there are 6 of these switches in the Range Rover – same as the Esprit).

Kylie,

Iam going to my local breakers this friday. There are about half a dozen breakers all in a row. I will have a look for a switch for you. If I find one, I'll post it FOC for you.
I'll keep you posted.

Kylie, went to the breakers today. Couldn't find one that matches the Lotus. Found plenty of very similar ones.
Dropped into PNM on my way back, they can order one in for Wednesday provided he gets his order in by 3:00PM GMT. Price is $35 NZD plus postage at $20 NZD. I can sort it out for you if you still want it.
Let me know. You have my e-mail address already.

Hey thanks so much Dave and others appreciate you having a look for me, dam I just fitted my new switches that arrived yesterday after my complaining to him....alot!. I got charged a bomb for the genuine part $50.00NZD each, thats big dough for a small switch, oh well I know next time how much I should be paying. And next time will go around the wrecked range rovers etc, now I know what they are.
Thanks and will print this off for future reference.
