Gday all
After such a long time . trying to ..
My car has been down to Southampton .. ready to be shipped to Queensland Australia. next week.

All those hills to have fun with .....then . free driving.
Strange on the day that i drove it down to Southampton .. i got all weather.. rain . sleet snow ...traffic snarls .. tail backs
There was me been protecting my Gcar from all these.. in the saftey of the garage.
So it is being shipped covered in all that muck....

My only problem now is that i will have to put suntan lotion on my car heh heh

Its going to the Sunshine Coast ... not the coast.... but to the Hinterland .... LOTS OF HILLS to have fun in..... long free roads .. no tailbacks etc

It should arrive around Easter

It will go back in a garage ....thou get a lot more miles on the clock ... ENJOYABLE MILES
(600 odd miles in 2 years ..... pheee)

I still remember that Yellow Lotus (half a car) that is used as a sign advert ..Affordable cars......car yard in Brissy ..going North

It was going to go to Perth .. though Queensland will be my home now

I just had thought...

I need to insure it when i get back
It will be used only as 2nd car
Used on week ends and hols ..plus nice days when i dont want to work and just go for a drive.

Had any good/bad dealings with insurance companies there.
At this stage i have only Shannons company

Thanks

Alex,

Insurance: I have had all my cars insured with Shannons for about nine years (including very highly modified gravel-rally cars, original and modified historic road cars, my retired ambulance and untouched hacks), and they have been very helpful and easy to deal with. They have never refused cover for anything from me. I have only made two claims, one for the retired ambulance when a friend was driving it, and a heated windscreen (very expensive, damaged while at a workshop, which was free) for the rally car. My S2 Esprit costs about $450/year. I would recommend them without hesitation.

Whereabouts in the Hinterland? - I know the area really well - my family had a house in Maleny for years and we have done loads of rallys around Imbil. The Montville-Palmwoods road will be the one for a good drive!

cheers

Ian....

Gday
Thanks Ian for inurance.. have you heard about Unique Insurance ?

Also my home will be in Nambour the best of both worlds.

So if you see a Red S3 with number plates 87 ESP
that will be me ..
So you never know a few Gcars on a run in the hills ,, will make my newly arrived pommie car not so home sick... will have mates

Also my soulmate, Carolyn is just as keen to see our Gcar on the road in the hills.

It is great to have your partner with as much joy and interest in Lotus....
So in that sense .. i am a very happy man.

Unique Insurance rings a vague bell - I couldn't tell you anything about them, though.

Nambour is not a bad spot.

When do you arrive?

cheers,

Ian...
