I am in the midst of a clutch replacement on a '91 SE, and I was wondering if these 4 bangers are internally or externally balanced, and whether or not there are any precautions or special considerations when resurfacing the flywheel ? ?

Walt,

the 4-pots are not dynamically balanced, but balanced as components for weight. It is a good idea to have the flywheel/clutch/clutch cover (Lotus parlance for Pressure Plate) balanced as a unit. It will minimize any vibrations which may occur. Happy Motoring! ...Jim'85TE
