Hello --

I was hoping someone could list the service intervals for the S4/S, what they entail, and how much they cost (USD)?

I appreciate it!

Luke.

Sorry I don't have the list but question - can you do some of your own work? If so, then you can seriously save some cash as I'm sure you'll recognize. A Lotus mechanic can be expensive although, in my opinion, the car is no more difficult to maintain than any other car. My manual is over with my Lotus and tomorrow I'll dig it out and post with my estimated costs (using std parts and your labor) if nobody else has stepped up to the plate.

I just posted this information not too long ago on Roadfly.com. Here it is.

Looking in my manual and regarding 95 vehicles...

(in miles)
6K - A Service
12.5K - B Service
18.5K - A Service
25K - B Service
31K - A Service
37K - C Service
43.5K - A Service
50K - B Service + recommended Lotus extras
56K - A Service
62.5K - B Service
68.5K - A Service
75K - C Service

As for what is expected to be done...

A Service - change engine oil/filter, check trans and PS fluid levels, check coolant level, visually inpsect brakes and associated parts, adjust parking brake, lubricate locks/hinges/catches, inspect brake and clutch fluid level, inspect all steering associated parts, inspect wheel bearings, inspect tires/wheels/lugnuts, inpsect lights and electrical equipment operation, top up windshield washer fluid. Past that, Lotus recommends but doesn't require to also check the V belt and tensioner and check forstored ECU codes

B Service - A service plus inspect radiator/oil cooler/chargecooler/pipe work, change brake fluid, inspect suspension bushings, inspect battery and terminals, inspect AC/heat, check operation of all latches/hinges/catches. Past that, Lotus recommends but doesn't require to also check V belt and tension, inspect cam belt condition and valve timing, change air filter and spark plugs, inspect fuel tanks/caps/fuel pipes connections, check for stored ECU codes, inspect EBPV and throttle jack

C Service - B Service plus change transmission and PS fluid, repack front wheel bearings, change coolant, check V belt tension and condition, inspect valve clearance, change air filter and plugs. Recommended but not required is inspection of fuel system, stored codes, TPS adjustment, inspect throttle jack and EBPV.

For 95 Cars Lotus specifies to change the fuel filter and cam belt at 100,000 miles. For 93-94 cars they specify to change both at 50,000 miles. For 93 and prior they specify at every C service.
