Does anyone know if this is a Lotus part or is it sourced from a GM or similar ??? Just wondering as I am looking for people to rebuild the alternator and it would be easier if I just told them it was for a GM or something similar.

You cannot cross reference it with anything in the US. It is probably sourced from a Euro-car of some sort, but not a US part.

Ask me how I know, g'head ask...

I can't be too certain, but I heard through a friend of a friend (etc!) that's it's from a V6 Vauxhall Omega. I'm not saying that's a definate, but worth looking in to.
Hope it helps!

Can you see the manufacturer and model number on it? If you find it then I can get it matched up.

Well, it looks like it's deffo from a GM car. I don't think it's going to be too expensive for a pattern part. More hunting around required!!

I took a look at mine this evening while underneath... could only find marking on the front showing made in france... like that's helpful. The starter says delco right on it...

I am going to a auto electric shop tomorrow to see if I can get one also. I am taking mine in. Is is a delco part but the made in France might indicate none in the US. If Lear auto electric does not have it then it looks like I might try a local alt rebuilder. I will post outcome.

Just got mine back .. it was 220$ to completely rebuild to better than new specs. The only part re-used was the casing.

Next time, grind the "made in france" off and it won't cost so much ;-)

Glad that you got it rebuilt and saved some $$... time for cambelts now!

Where did you take it so if my shop can't find the parts I can have them call yours or I can sent mine there?

Thx
