Ernest, Ernest, Ernest, please let us have our fun. Remember, WS6 is the one who, for the second time, enters this site & tries to intimidate us lotus owners. All we are doing is responding. Sure, we could ignore the jealous, insecure lad, but why not a little entertainment. His April, 2004, visit to this site was nothing more than a lie, I was just trying to expose it.

It goes against the rules of the site, so I cannot allow it. We are all too mature to deal with this kind of (what is referred to in the States as) pissing contest.

This is the best open discussion Esprit forum on the internet (imho) and I intend to keep it that way. Sorry, but there you are.

I got an e-mail from the gentleman (FastWS6) apologizing and clarifying. Anyone else get such an e-mail?

He says he won't be back to the board, though.

He and I had a chat in the "Sin Bin" area of the board...

He has apologized for causing any problems and I "let him out" of the sin bin so he can come back if he wishes...

If FastWS6 does come back, there's just one clarification I want.

He specifically states in his e-mail:

"As far as the WS6. I do not own one. Never have."

and then he says:

"My car and his (not the super bee..the SE or X180R) Esprit would actually be a good close race. I think I would take the SE but it could go either way with the X180R. HP on my car and the X180R (same day, same dyno) was withing a few HP and weight is very close. It could go either way. I was however spinning on the dyno and the X180R wasn't. I also had a blown headgasket."

What car does FastWS6 have that WOULD be competitive with an X180R? Since we all love cars, I'd like to hear more about that vehicle he owns.

I'm not trying to be provocative; and he did say:

"I was a jerk on the board. I appologize for that. I just posted yesterday because I had heard enough of the Esprit owner talking crap at work."

I accept that it is over with & was just a little fun entertainment. Won't hold anything against WS6. He was "aggressive" back in April, then again this week, that's why I reacted like I did, but its over & I hope he continues to learn from this site as I do.

Actually, I hope he does come back, and I hope you e-mail him that I do. Why? Because it sounds like is truly repentive, and I've shoved my foot firmly in my mouth plenty of times, so who am I to condemn for life?

But more importantly, it gives him a chance to see what good Esprit owners are like. It sounds like the one he's familiar with may be a blowhard, and if I had someone coming in to work every day sh!tting on my car saying his was the best, it might wear on me too.

So if he really has the potential to be a good guy, I say come back, see what we're all about. It's always better to educate other people. It results in more enthusiasts and fewer keyed Esprits

OK.

I must publicly apologize to everyone for how I came off. I had just had enough of the "esprit is the greatest thing since sliced bread and beer". The whole WS6 name was made on another day when I was irriated. The story was actually to get at the same person. He was telling me how beneath him a WS6 was with its cheap chevy components. I had hoped to get at him that day.

As far as Esprits, I have been in three of them. If you guys know any of these people, you probably know the cars I am talking about. I have been in Johans car and the X180R. Johans car pulls pretty hard. The X180R doesnt pull as hard, it feels more "normal". As I first stated, I think Esprits are nice cars. In fact, had I realized how good of a deal they are before I bought my car, I may be driving one.

You ask what I drive that is similar to an X180R. You may or may not believe me, but a 951. It is full on. Big turbo. Big reds. Weltmeister. Etc. Etc.

My other rides are as follows. A hayabusa, a jeep wrnagler, and an F150. If people care to see pics, my webpage is.

http://danat.mesanetworks.net/Motorcycles.html

You will see that I have pics of Johans car on the webpages. I know what it is.

When I say that an 180R feels "normal", I must qualify that. It feels about the same as my car (of coarse this is the perspective form the passangers seat). The hayabusa pulls pretty hard. If you look at what I have had (road race bikes, street bikes, drag bikes) etc, I may have a little clue what I am talking about. I know people think an Esprit on nitrous is insane, now imagine my old GSXR1100 on nitrous (the definition of "scary fast" when the frame started a little flexing and the front was in the air at 120mph). I sold the GSXR becuase the hayabusa is fatser .

As I might have explained to some forum members, and why I wanted to race a an Esprit with my hayabusa is that this esprit owner somehow eqauted an Esprit as being faster than a Hayabusa. I wanted to tape the race to shut him up. Here was his basic logic. 1) A video was put out on the web showing hayabusas is variosu forms (from stock to wild) racing a 900ish rwhp viper. He claime the viper wasnt trying, couldn't shift, and that why it lost. 2) The X180R beats many vipers on the local roadrace track (keep in mind driver skill??) 3) Since an X180R is faster than a viper, a viper can keep up with a hayabusa without trying that an Esprit is faster than a hayabusa. Oh yes, I must through in that the "magazine says so" to.

For two years working with this guy (if you look at my webapge you will see his car an mine next to each other) he talks smack but wont race. He always has an excuse and brings me magazines showing how fast it is. I won't rehash the excuses.

The day I posted my commenst I had had it. I heard how no technology in the world was better than that of a Lotus and a McClaeran F1. I had told him I really didnt didn't care and that the Hayabusa would hand him is lunch nay day of the year. His reply was simply that I could run the Hayabusa into a brick wall at 170mph and walk away from the crash. I told him that was the stupidest statement I had ever heard.

So to make a much longer story only long, I must say that I was out of line during my last set of posts and it was based upon emotion. I was trying to get a race just once and for all to show him how hard a bike, especially a big one, pulls so I could quit listening to his BS.

As far as flaming different marques. I do it. Most of the time its light hearted. If you REALLY look at it I don;t care if you drive a 911, Z06, Exprit V8, of F50. Most of racing comes down to driver skill (unless its just outright accleration from a roll-on..yes, getting a vehicle off the line hard I would say is every bit as techincal, although in a different than, road racing).

Please take the following as a light hearted jab at my German buddy. He may challenge me to race him at the Ring, but I have been there. In fact, it takes an Americans skill to run the ring in an Opel Zafria. Anyone can run the ring with a sports car, but only us Americans can handle it with a Zafria. Only my german buddy may understand teh following.

Ich habe Schule am Julius Stursberg Gynamasium in Nuekirchen Vlyun besucht. Neukirchen ist nur äußer Duisburg, wenn Sie neugierig sind.

Great thing about the Ring though is that Cochem ins just down the road. Soem good wine drinkin there. Its also not far from some nice Koelsch too....

Now, I would take up my German buddy on a race if we race for Diebels Alt. Looser buys the first round . Either way I win. I get Diebels. Damn. All this makes me want to go back. Also, for my german friend, if you want a fast road, try the A57 near Xanten. You can normally run flat out there.

Ok. Enough Rambling.

Hey if you had approached the forum in a more adult manner initially, everyone would have been delighted to chat with you and answer your query on what is faster etc as the topic does come up every now and again with other cars, but because of your tone you did not do yourself any favours, apology now accepted I do hope you continue to contribute and read the posts here, but remember this is no place for flaming people or their rides, we all have something in common here and thats our love for our precious cars.
BTW sounds like you have a great car, feel free to post some pics!
Cheers

Out of curiosity, who is the person that is running at the mouth? Not hat you have to or should post it. I am just nosey.

Smack talk doesn't bother me, I come from the world of DSMs. Granted, I was in it way before DSMers spoke smack. Now that the ricers found out what potential the cars have, everyone and their little brother wants in and smack is what I must weed through everday to get to the good stuff or offer help.

This board needed a little excitement anyway. Welcome back.

Thanks for the clarification. Good to look at your website as well. Obviously you have an appreciation for cars & speed, which makes it even more intriguing as to why you would come in "flaming" due to an a$$hole exotic driver.

The only Porsche I owned was a 914. Handling was awesome, obviously the power was nothing compared to the 951. Still, it's a great marque with a lot of history and class, and I enjoyed my little bit of ownership. I'll bet the 951 is a beast.

Well said. As I mentioned, I've stopped dragging & concentrating on straight-line speed. My wife did a lot more dragging than I did, but she's also Bertil Roos trained & licensed and knows her way around a road course.

Thanks for the apology.

After going back and reading the Ws6 posts about 'raping' an Esprit and carefully reading everything that ddt spewed out, I have decided that some of you are far more accepting than I ever could be.

Sure, many of us are prone to juvenile commments from time to time and that can be forgiven. The numerous posts of ddt go way beyond that.

Not only that, the cover story told in his 'apology' just doesn't quite fit.

I admire those of you who are able to forgive and forget, but I remain a sceptic when it comes to ws6's tale. I seriously doubt most of his story.

Not that anyone really cares, but I thought I would inject my 2 cents worth.

Dirk,

I am sorry that you think I am not being truthful now. I have already admitted that the first post was fictional.

I have made a webapge just for you. For those of you who know lotuses (what is teh plural or lotus??? Lotii?) you will see a pciture of the Super Bee (at least I think that's what everyone refers to Johans car as) with the engine under construction. There are also pics of an X180R. You will see my car on the same dyno. I have various combinations of my cars and bikes together. Some of them are different bikes on the same work bench. Some are the same car in different areas.

http://danat.mesanetworks.net/miscauto.html

I would have to be one hell of a stalker to fake all these pictures, especially since many are in the same garage.

I like the Busa and Esprit. Just a quick question for the owner. How do you compare the two? I say that my Hayabusa makes my 951 feel like I am driving a bug (or jeep). This is as close as I can come to the putting the feeling of a hayabusa into car terms. Have you done any mods the busa? There are some nice little tricks that really help it. I put a Sato pipe on mine. That made a nice difference. I have other little tricks. Email me for details. I have been playing with the Hayabusa since '99 (yes, its a non-restricted version with the good speedo..if you haven't derestricted your I have a TRE on mine that will eliminate the restriction that I would part with..it give a little more ooomph below 3500 but it will cost about .1 and 3-4 mph on teh strip. I haven't gotten rid of it because I am lazy and seem to have too many other projects going on all the time to screw with the bike (this means leave it alone so it always works).

Welll, Dirk, I hope that maybe I have convinced that I have somewaht backed up what I have said or that I am the best car stalker in the world. I guess for the final proof, you could ask Johan if I have been to his house, in his car, and if he has seen my 951.

I won't say who the antagonist is. You may be able to tell from what I have previously posted.

Dana,

The Busa isn't mine, it was my officemates. The Esprit is mine.

I'd be drunk to straightline race his Busa...my Esprit has had a LOT of things done, but so has his Busa. In a tight road coarse I don't think he'd have a chance though...his bike is too heavy and too powerful...it would want to shoot off into a straightline if he tried to keep up. Especially with him...he's not a very experienced rider (and over 300 pounds himself.)

I don't know exactly what has been done, but one of the most extensive mods is that the frame has been chopped and lengthened. The previous owner was a bike racer...sold the Busa because he wanted a new project.

Another friend at my office though, would gladly take you on in a roadcourse...but he also professionally races Ducatis, so that's no knock against you or your bike, but he'll go up against anybody

Anyways, the bike isn't mine, I just thought you'd like the rooftop pics of my car and his Hayabusa.

Mike
