Carbon Fibre roof progress piccy..
Discussion
Just a little update, have got so much going on at the moment, I have trimmed up the edges on the panel pulled from the mould, which looks ok. The weave is a little distorted on the edge which I am not happy about so when I get another chance will lay up another. This one consists of 2 layers of CF 196g Twill put down first in the mould using a laminating Epoxy resin, then one layer of 3mm core mat over top and 2 layers of CF over top again. No backing plate or male mould was used on this one as I was just going to sand it, but I might use my first attempt hash up to use as a backing plate on the next one. Getting there

I live in the UK and have moulds to make a carbonfibre roof as seen on LEW. I could come up with a two piece idea if you want to sketch it out and e-mail or fax it to me.
Kylie, keep up the good work.
BTW, when I finally decide to put a production roof in, Iam going to cut a hole in my old prototype roof the same as the inner opening to see if I can come up with a trim to hid the ugly gutter around the sunroof. Will keep you posted.
Cheers,
Dave Walters

Ace matey!!! Can you post some pics when all done?. I would be delighted. After clear coating, spraying and cutting back with sand papers and cutting compound, I then used the three step polishing system that Meguiars have and finished off with their liquid wax. You can of course cut it back with your own polish to be in sinc with the rest of your car. Otherwise should be grand!!
