I've just read this in my local paper and the Traffic England website confirms it:

Roadworks
The A3 southbound will be closed between the junctions with the A283 Godalming North and the A325 due to roadworks, from 9 pm on 28 June 2014 to 9 am on 29 June 2014.

...or in other words, the Hindhead tunnel.

That's bonkers, given that most people would be on the A3 going to Goodwood before 9am.
There is no easy diversion either is there? as they have dug the old road up

Am I right in thinking therefore that as you come past Guildford heading south, you should still be able to come off at Milford which then takes you to either Petworth or Haslemere?

It's a great drive south of Chiddingfold on the A283 to Petworth but be aware of the police who will more than likely be out in force!

Don't worry, I'm a regular attendee and it's the oute I normally take so I'm well aware of the 'risks'!
