I haven't been to any of the Goodwood event before, but think I might be missing out on something special.

Can anyone give me the +ive & -ive pointers on these 3 please?

1. Goodwood FoS
2. Goodwood Revival
3. Goodwood Breakfast Clubs

Can't do them all!

Thanks.

They all kick ass. I can't think of a bad word to say about any of them. if you are going to go to only one though I'd say do the FOS. If you are a big fan of theatre classic cars and Amdram do the revival.

If you like more modern cars and f1 cars do the festival, I you like older cars and racing round a track do the Revival. But at the end of the day both the events are amazing - either one you wont be dissapointed nono
Hope this helps

I would agree they are all very good. I have done the FOS about 5 times now its a great event with a fantastic display off all things fast and exotic. I have done one Super car breakfast club and I was blow away by the scale and quality of the cars, you cant fail at either. I hope to do the Revival either this year or next.

easy answer is all!

Breakfast club is by far the cheapest (if you avoid the breakfast!);)

Once you start, you'll be hooked. I missed the first FoS, but attended the subsequent 15. I missed first 5 Revivals (mainly due to expense) but now rate it as the finest motor racing spectacle in the world. It depends on your tastes but the Revival features the best historic racing anywhere I've ever seen. The FoS is the place to get close to your heroes and indulge in every element of speed and cars. The Breakfast Club is a different thing. Living 250 miles away, I can't justify the travel, but I did attend one a few months ago and it was brilliant. I think more of an event for people who live within an hour or two of the circuit. It's a delightfully informal event and the atmosphere is lovely. Perfect for a sunny Sunday, although it did bring out a bit of envy in me...

Festival of Speed - anything and everything motor vehicle wise - the latest supercars running up the hill, cars from your childhood, cars that have been in hiding for years in private collections. Difficult to describe how close you get to both the cars and the drivers until you have been there - but the first year I went I was looking over an old brabham when Jean Alesi asked me to help him into the cockpit - dont think you would ever get that at a GP!

Revival - For this you have to suspend reality and accept that you are stepping back into a 1960's race meeting. If you go I would recommend that you dress up into period gear - just immerse yourself in the event and you will have a fantastic time. Unlike the FOS this is a race meeting so the cars go round and round (rather than whizz up the hill and cruise back down again). As it is a themed 1960s race meeting you dont get the range and variety of vehicles you get at the FOS as nearly everything is in period, but to see them racing full tilt is a sight to behold!

Breakfast Club - if you live near enough a great way to spend a sunday morning. Each one as a theme but to be honest half the fun is to cruise down to the circuit and see the range of cars there. It is totally informal, just turn up and wander round, and nearly all the cars are brought along by car enthuiasts to take them for a run. There is no organised driving at the events, just a big meeting of likeminded people.

Personally, and I realise that living under and hour away I am in a lucky postion, I would say go to as many as you can. Of the two big events, each has its own charms and I try to get to both each year, but I never miss the FOS as I love seeing the 1970's and 1980's F1 cars running up the hill.
