Travel advice - Goodwood - Tomorrow

Hi all,

I'll be driving down from SW London (via M25), starting off at about 7am. Getting really excited now.

Can anyone please offer a good route to avoid the worst of the traffic jams?

A3 south past Guildford, come off at Milford and follow the A283 to Petworth then use the A285 which will take you towards Goodwood, then just follow the FOS signs.

A3 to Millford, A283 almost to Petworth, turn off at Lurgashaw turnoff, follow signs to Lodsworth and keep going out to A272, turn left towards Petworth but take 1st turning on right towards Selham, take 1st left (just before Three Moles Pub). Follow signs to South Ambersham, at end of road turn right, soon after left towards West Lavington and through the village. You will get out onto A286 (missing Midhurst as well), turn left onto A286 and continue through Cocking to Singleton. At Singleton take 3rd left up and over the hill to Goodwood. If you can't find it now, God help you!!

This way you will miss out Petworth and Midhurst.

Grifster, I also wish to thank you for those directions as i always get stuck in traffic and the sat nav does not help

Griffster, just checked out your route on the map and have a quick question. At the junction just before the Three Moles Pub, where you said take the first left, should it not be the first right? The road to Selham from the A272 is going south, but South Ambersham is over to the west. Cheers man.

My tickets for Friday were delayed in the post, so have to collect them from the Post office at 8am tomorrow (Friday). I won't arrive at Goodwood until around 10.30/11. Does anyone know what the traffic and parking will be like at Goodwood at that time?

Congestion around Goodwood ought to be quite low at that time, I arrived at that time on a Friday 2 years ago and only had to endure the odd 10 minute go slow

Parking should be easy, but you will be quite a way from the entrance
