The 2 original Mk1 Cooper Ss in the Bonhams auction went for £20k each so I'm guessing a competitive race car would be double that judging by the state of tune of the engines. The running costs must be high too. Much higher than Mighty Minis I imagine.

I liked them and would be happy to see them on rotation but not every year!
The 20/25 minute races really suffer when there's a safety car (and in previous years there have been more of them) so trying to cram 8 races into every day would be a step backwards.

As a 60s tin top Ford enthusuist (Cortinas,Mustangs,Galaxies and Falcons)this year was at our expense so I would have to say no , either that or no Minis in the St Mary's then you have your own race but as it's been said its already a packed programme , I have to say I missed those great big Galaxies and Falcons in the St Mary's thundering down the straights and then holding on tight for the corners.

The mini race was good, but as (obviously!) they are all the same, it didn't have the same excitement as the usual mix of everything from Minis to Galaxies, so I'd go for the mix rather than the one make version.
