Just a reminder that GRRC renewals have to be done by today.

Computers seem to be down again online AND in their office so it'll require a phonecall.

Yes and the Results of the meeting have being posted...And its Pretty clear Really..If you love the Revival or paying large sums of money for lots of extras, (Like the use of the march and kinrara enclosures, going to the events at goodwood house), love the Kennels (ok if you live local) and paying for all the other club 'extras' ,The club is Fantastic !.(Trust me, you have to pay for a lot to get anything out of this club'..Oh and there will be a 'start up fee' to pay when you join too, around £150.0p plus your members fee '£165.0' !!)

Thing is, if you really are only going to the festival of speed and do not have the time or money for the kinrara or march enclosures or attending just the friday and sunday of the Revival or F.o.s and not using a grandstand all the time at either event , Also if you enjoy the track days at goodwood circuit (taking part or just watching), its a Waste of time being a Grrc member ! The Club is very one sided, But i guess as the average age of members is 50+ (it must be something like that) and the members attending the events sides At: 40% of Members come to FOS so the popularity at FOS is not as good as Revival at 92%...It makes good sence to run the club this way i guess...

Hi Rich, I do have slightly disagree with your comments. I was at the meeting on the 23rd and it was not all one sided as the report appears. I cannot afford Kinrara or March but when you consider that a friday ticket and grandstand costs over fifty quid and Kinrara costs £105 which includes the ticket, good grandstand, forward parking behind the cricket pitch, programme, relaxed prime spot on the hill where there are tables and chairs to sit, quality toilets and visits from drivers such as David Coulthard and Bobby Rahal its starts to sound better value. Of course I wouldn't want to spend all weekend there so would only do one day if I could afford to. Talking of which if you can find somewhere else where you can get a three course meal of as good a quality for £26.50 than the Kennels then I would love to hear it (membership of the Kennels alone cost £160!!). I don't do the track days either but still like to get down there to watch. I don't think we're all old farts either though at 43 I probably have ten years on you. I do agree though with your point about benefits being weighted in favour of the Revival over the Festival - the figures speak for themselves. As a group of eleven we were surprised at the meeting at how much James does fight for the club and its members. He has tried to get parking at the Breakfast club, admits it was slightly wrong to broadcast on Pistonheads about the open day and various other stuff including something which we are bound not to say anything about but which is really exciting if it comes off. I know this sounds like I am being James' stooge but why not defend a club I am proud to be a member of. I should also point out that the joining fee is for the first year only, and yes I found that steep. Keep taking the good pics that you do and I hope maybe we'll meet one day and swap notes. Mark

Hi mark, You see this one of the problems 'again' i find wrong with the membership...people keep going on about the 'kennels' being great for Grrc members BUT, Anyone can Visit the excellent Richmound arms bar and resturant which is apart of the the goodwood hotel. where you will find a Bar with allsorts of old motorsport memorabilia And you will find a excellent three course meal for £25.00p ! http://media.goodwood.co.uk/hotel/PDF/The_Richmond...www.goodwood.co.uk/site/content/hotel/Restaurants-...
In a way its good to hear that james does 'fight' for the members..But again why should he have to fight for members, does this not just show the rest of the goodwood estate have very little respect for the club and the Grrc members !?
Do not get me wrong, the club does has some Very good things like the kinrara and march areas...But for me,i just could not get the most out of being a member without spending so much money!! (Also i have never had a problem with J posting on here!)

But mark, No worries more than happy to meet up at the next goodwood event !
