Anyone here get a Drive today? Was very lucky and had a trip up the hill in a
Honda and MX5 (both as passenger though) the guy who drove for the Mazda people
Was an motorsports instructor, and I must admit I was quite impressed what the little
Mazda could do up the hill!
Of course there were other cars there but were all booked either in advance or were on
Reserve lists by about 9:45
Great day all in all, and can’t wait for tomorrow, for some big noise and lovely fumes,
Oh and pop over to the Pistonheads stand and by a sticker poor chap looked a bit lonely today!

Got to drive up the hill in the Morgan Aeromax. Thanks to MMC a rather nice dream come true. Planned to drive the SuperSports but given the 2 hour interruption for the problem with the Honda and the fact I had to leave by 5pm it meant I got the 'Max instead.

General impression was that it felt very similar to drive to my Aero (being an Series 4 Auto with the same chassis, drivetrain etc etc) but slightly heavier over the back wheels, with a higher side window line due to the new flush fit doors introduced on the Aeromax and, not being a convertible, much less noisy. The view out the back was rather fabulous, but for now I'll have to dream.

I certainly wasn't going to be setting any speed records up there but did get up a fair lick up the main straight section. Having driven the track it makes you realise how talented the guys are who drive big engined stuff up there flat out, it's very tight in the esses!

Overall a nice dream come true for me, so big thanks to all at MMC who made it possible and their superb hospitality on the day.

I was supposed to be going up in the CRZ but after the Mugen incident they cancelled it. Thankfully the nice guys at Peugeot and Alfa Romeo let me and my Dad drive the new Guilietta Cloverleaf and The Peugeot RCZ up there right at the end of the day. It was really surreal drving up the hill and a lot tighter than I thought. The flint wall sticks out quite a fair bit! (I always thought it was rounded)
I had an awesome time and I hope they do it next year

Yep, had a fun drive in an MX5 and an even more enjoyable passenger ride in the MX5 endurance car. Benefits of selling them for a living I suppose wink. Tried requesting rides/drives at Ferrari and RR but had no joy, apparently Newport Ferrari and Newport Rolls Royce don't exist hehe !! If you don't ask, you don't get an' all that.

Yep, got a go in the RCZ, which was very nice. Passengering in Kris Meeke's 207 on the rally stage shortly!

You git.

I hate you even more than before I beat you at karting wink

I went today and the best I managed through a contact was parking on site rather than a long walk!

Btw, where's the site gone and are we having a beer during July?

I had a similar story, was supposed to be driving the CR-Z up (it was pretty much all that had spots left when I asked around) but of course when I went back at the end of the day couldn't do it. I asked very nicely at the Peugeot stand and they let both me and my mate drive the RCZ up the hill. Really glad they did, it's a very impressive car.

Not jealous at all of my other mate who was invited by Chevrolet and got to drive both the Camaro and the Vette ZR1 up the hill!

Am back there tomorrow, had no idea one could get passenger rides?!

How can I, or do I have to know someone who knows a man about a dog?

I got out in the new MG6, the Mugen Honda (before the incident) & the Punto Abarth EVO.

Three runs up the hill which i thoroughly enjoyed.

The MG was quite a good car - it was a left hand drive chinese spec car with a down powered engined & softer suspnsion however i reckon that with some fine tuning and in right hand drive form it could be a success. I hope so.

The Mugen was just very quick and handled superbly whilst the Abarth was a revelation. A wicked car to drive quickly up the hill.

Thank you to all involved.

It was my first visit to Goodwood so to get up the hill three times on thursday was just superb.

Only disappointment was not getting out in the Audi R8 V10. From the trackside they looked and sounded superb.
