That's excellent news - thanks!

We at work have been trying to work out if it's on or not all week...

I'll be armed and ready with the camera. A treat indeed.

Nick.

Slight update on timing, XH558 will be displaying at RAF Waddington at 14:00 then transiting down to Goodwood afterwards so expect display to be closer to 15:00

Well, it appeared.

It was hugely exciting to see it again, the last time I saw a Vulcan was at the British GP at Brands in the early 1980s. I took lots of photos, one here:

Good to see the old girl in the air again, I relish the days of Biggon Hill, Fairford and Farnborough when the V Bombers used to dominate the show, it has been a good 15 years since I last saw a Vulcan in the air. Great display just a slight shame that the aircraft had to be so far south of the main crowd. It also looked like the aircrew were being pretty careful with her and not throwing her around as much as they did when it was in service, understandably.

One day I will do one of my famous "aviation rants" and discuss the fact that we are going backwards not forwards with our aircraft.

The Vulcan was absolutely stunning, everyone around was just standing transfixed by it.
I didn't know quite how huge it was untill today!

By modern standards, it isn't that big. It's length is about the same as a Boeing 737. However, it's the shape and noise that makes it impressive.

Lol, what happened? When we went in there they were taking the canopy on the outside down, was it anything to do with that?
Glad my mate had his Cloverleaf card with him by the way, Free Coffee, Beer and Cake from Alfa ;-)

They told me that as it opened the throttles on the first pass, all the glass dropped out of the frames....

I had Alfa keys in my bag and didn't even think to ask...

Ah, always bring your keys, it'll get you in to the roped off bits. Peroni and Lemon drizzle cake was much appreciated!

Agreed; Vulcan one of the high points of the show for me.
Blistering!
(Anyone remeber when they were testing the engines of Concorde at Farnborough? They strapped one (ONE) to the belly of a Vulcan - pilot did slow flypast banked so we could see it; came back, sat the thing on it's tail, opened it up with full afterburner - and climbed at 60 degrees till we couldn't see him - absolutely set the ground trembling and every car alarm off in a radius of 10 miles. The racket, bloody wonderful. Unbelievable thrust! I bet children were born ...)
Last year's hero in that Jaguar was pretty wild.

I did laugh when some of the car alarms in the car parks were set off by the Vulcans low pass.
