I saw from Facebook last night that Vintage at Goodwood will not happen next year, instead someone has come up with the rather bad idea of doing Vintage on tour!

I am not sure whether this is just some creative types bright idea or whether the Goodwood estate could not handle the handful of 'nimby" letters from the usual tossers that write in to the Chichester Observer.

Either way, it is a very bad idea. In the past 18 hours on Facebook the announcement has seen over a 100 people stating it is a bad move.

I hope they reconsider whilst they have time.

It was a breath of fresh air to have such an event in the Chichester area and from what I have read in a few places these kinds of festival tours have never worked in the past.

Highly disappointed!

Awful news - smells of money making to me... so will it be called "Vintage at Goodwood at Nottingham" or whatever?

Please don't jump to any conclusions on this one. It is currently a VERY sensitive subject so not able to comment any more. I'm sure all will become clear in the coming weeks.

I maybe jumping to conclusions to reasons.

But this is what it says on the official Facebook status "Hot off the press... Vintage goes on tour.
So it's not Vintage at Goodwood in 2011... It's Vintage at ???"

But it is still a totally crap idea!

Whatever the reason that's very sad - I really enjoyed it this year.

So it looks like they have realised that taking the Vintage concept on the road was not a popular one and have decided not to run at all this year, a bit of a PR balls-up given what they were saying on their own Facebook page. Hopefully they get their act together in 2012!!

I know they (Goodwood Vintage Organisers) did not have the correct District Council permits or permission to have a music licence for playing music late at night/early hours of the morning.

Not true and nothing to do with the decision to close the business either.. We did get a load of complaints from local residents but our licences were intact and correct.

Me too, but I don't recall giving the Hemingways my email address, I didn't even get to Vintage last year.
