Spectating at Goodwood
Discussion
Evening chaps,
I've decided that this year is going to be the year for me to get into motor sport photography. Now Goodwood is a few miles from me and thought that would be a good starting place.
Sooo, can anyone just turn up at Goodwood and pay to spectate or do you have to be a member of some sorts?
Thanks in advance

Good idea to get a copy of the circuit diary from the website (just print it off). Saturdays are generally good, just make sure not to be too intrusive on the drivers and wrap up warm as its often windy. Next really good one is 2nd April Saywell International as well as Breakfast club of course. www.racinggreenphotography - look at Goodwood Circuit page. Enjoy
I try to nip into Goodwood now & again on the way back from the shops on saturdays. I usually get an hour before the mobile summons me to sort out "my" children who are misbehaving in some way. If nothing else I get some panning practice in for when I need it for real at the FoS or Revival. I've never had any problems taking photos, however I chatted to a marshall about it a while back. He informed me the only problem is if you try to make money from your pictures. This doesn't cover the FoS or revival though.

All cameras should be banned at the Revival. Additionally anybody who arrives with mahuuusive telephoto lenses should be banned for life. Anybody who arrives with mahuuuuusive telephoto lenses and a tripod should be shot on the spot.
nurse! DJC's medication is running low again!(it's a good point though)

Definitely not.Having lined up the shot, focused on the track, you're ready. Then just as the car comes into shot the prat next to you holds his/her tiny little camera or phone at arm's length right in your way. They should use the viewfinder or hold the camera close to their face. The extra 18 inches of their arms isn't going to make any diffence to the picture.

d just trying to watch the race has got half of his vision impaired by the 2 kagoule wearing t
ts in front of him taking up 3m of fence, one with his f
king tripod and pretending to be David Bailey and the other his arms everywhere waving his camera phone about like some Japanese schoolgirl in front of David Beckham.DJC said:

d was a real fan he'd have arrived before the photo-gits and would have them behind him instead of in front of him.Gassing Station | Goodwood Events | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
