Best way to clean a Camelbak?

Whats the best way to clean it? Rinse it out? just thinking that it won't really dry out in there?

I have one of the Camelbak plastic hangers. I suppose you could bend a coat hanger to do the same job.
The new model has little arms next to the filler cap that pull out to hold the bladder open. You cannot use a hanger with those as they have internal baffles.
To clean I just use soap and water. I regularly give them a soak in Milton fluid as well.

I make sure the tube is clean and then fold a portion of it back into the bag to open it up.

If it has been left for a while I soak it in baby bottle sterilising fluid.

+1 - Milton Fluid is your friend. Invest in a cleaning kit specially for the job to clean out the tube etc, then soak the bag to ensure sterility. You can even use Milton in the water in very small quantities to ensure it is safe to drink, if you are not sure of the source quality.

All the emtpying & drying never helped mine. The tube became disgusting & made me feel quite ill after pulling a gear change cable with a tissue wrapped around the end to de-guck it.
Now i slosh it out with water & stick it in the freezer after every ride. Nothing has grown in there since.

Drain after every ride and stick a glass milk bottle in there.

Occasionally chuck a few sterilising tablets and ho water in there and run through tube.

Denture cleaning tablets, then once empty stick it in the freezer.
