Anyone know if there are SIDI stockists in South Wales/Bristol for a try-on? Failing that, what is the fit like compared to Shimano/Spesh/Giro.

I take a size 43 in trainers i.e. Adidas and Converse etc. My Sidi Genius road shoes are a size 44 and my Shimano R086 road shoes are also a size 44. If it helps Sidi road shoe sizing always come up that slighly bit smaller.

Sorry I can't help with any suplliers in Bristol.

Tried the SIDI, found them too narrow but I have fat feet!

So do I!. Giro fit well, as do Time and Spesh. Shimano too narrow for me.

If Shimano are too narrow then you should forget Sidi

We're all different i find my SIDI Eagle Carbon (albeit a racier mtb shoe) fits perfect whereas the S works mtb shoe i tried was silly narrow.

However i find shimano pretty good for my wide size 9 feet?

I would say my SIDI's after about 2.5k miles are silly comfy and albeit dont look new but the carbon sole has held up well to the winter off road battering and after replacing the rubber bits on the sole the shoes look fresher for it and look like they'll last another year of on road, commuting and off road abuse..... only bit is the price i paid £170 ( i think) which was about 90 quid knocked off retail and at £260 i'm not sure if i'd of taken the plunge for such an expensive shoe but glad i got seemingly a one off bargain and they've lasted and made my mind up that i'll get something similar next time round

I know a few people who've bought SIDI and had to flog them on. I tried some (Ergo 2 Vernice bling ones, >£200) in a shop, felt great, after an hour of riding they were hell.

Most people I ride with (roadies) use Specialized S-Works now. The boa lacing is fantastic for adjusting tension under shoe covers and they're reasonably priced at the end of the year. If only the black ones weren't so damn ugly...

I've got a pair of Sidi Ergo 2's and I love em. (I do have quite narrow feet).
IMVHO, it's all about getting shoes that best fit your feet and suit your riding style, and less about the brand name.

Black and white and not individually we are talking two colours on one sock but which is the stronger or more prevalent colour.....

Now the real question for you white shoe wearers are do you wear the white lycra shorts......

Don't worry I had a pair and wore them on a 30 plus organised cycle which was a whole days worth of cycling, needless to say I had recieved a few complaints and in some cases the hope of rain from some of the ladies in the group.

I also got called moby dick as I had white shoes and helmet.

I have wide feet - Sidi do a wide fit called Mega in certain models. I think they're a little expensive for what they are (got mine in the sale for <£100 though) and the insole is basic but the they are a perfect fit.

If you had a white helmet, I'd seriously reconsider the fitment of your shorts!

My Sidi MTB shoes all fit like gloves, with insoles. Tried Spesh road shoes and were too tight, so bought some Genius from Merlin Cycles. Same discomfort, so took the insoles out and seem a lot better.

For those with wide feet, apparently the new Bont Riot is a wide shoe, wider than their wide fit more expensive ones.

The Riot has a heat mouldable sole too, not as stiff or high CF content as the Vaypour but then they're a whole lot cheaper.

The new Vaypour + is lovely though and they finally went Boa!
