Any idea on how to fix this?

Ignore the fact that in the 5+ years of owning my carrera kraken I've never lubed/greased it, and that I need a new chain and cassette (all of that I will get round to doing). Was cycling along and that snapped, rear completely locked up. Was lucky I didn't fall off.

You can buy the hangers seperately, just go to your nearest halfords if it is a carrera and they will help.

ok thanks! I just hope it doesn't set me back too much. I'm too skint to even buy a new inner tube (i end up pumping my rear wheel up again every hour or so).

The hangers are built to be the first thing to break to stop you having to buy a more expensive derailleur or damaging the frame. Should be pretty cheap though.

Mech hanger / Gear hanger / etc

Lots of names for the same thing and easily available for under a tenner. Just search for your frame brand.
