Just a quicky, got some XT rotors to fit to my Halo combats for the first time, and they have come with some shims, with two holes in each, are these designed to be used or only if the disc needs packing out a bit?

Any helps appreciated.cheers.

Are you sure they are shims, and not the locking tabs for the bolts(assuming they aren't centrelock disk)?

They are indeed the locking tabs for the rotor bolts: discs (6-bolt at least, can't speak for centrelock/adaptors) don't need spacers. The locking tabs themselves you put under each pair of bolts and then bend round the bolt head, the idea being it prevents them from loosening. However, IME they're not that necessary: threadlock, nip the bolts up properly...sorted.
