Land's End to Margate...

Alot of questions with a Sunday start!!! :-)
Do you prefer coastal or inland?
Road only or offroad sections tolerable?
Sustrans National Cycle Route 2 (The Cream Tea Route) takes you almost all of the way along the South Coast or for a flatter course head north towards Bristol (across Somerset levels) then along M4 corridor and across London.

Yeah. I think we've pretty much sorted the route, we'll either go coastal or across in a straight line.
Was just wondering about recommendations for climbs to do or avoid (having watched Tommy V turn himself inside out on a real climb yesterday then will probably avoid all hills...) and more importantly good places to find calories, local ales and glamping...

I did lands End to Kent many years ago for my Queens Scout expedition. We more or less stuck to the coast roads and it was about 400 miles.
We camped for a few of the nights in pub beer gardens - kills two birds with one stone! All of which we sorted on the day. Much easier to see how far you can get in a day rather than struggling to make the days destination or conversely arriving with hours of riding left in you.
Maybe avoid Dartmoor if you don't like hills, but I seem to recall it saved a big chunk of miles over cycling round.
