I'm racing in the Sprint distance on Sat pm, so if you stick around once you've racked you might see me. I'm in the 16:50 wave, bib number 3097.
Bummer you having to rack the day before, it's a bit of a PITA I bet.
Good luck with your race. What time are you gunning for?

Good luck to you too! What time you aiming for in the sprint?Bummer you having to rack the day before, it's a bit of a PITA I bet.

I want to get sub 2h40m, would be chuffed to bits with a sub 2h30 but we'll just have to see

Racking the day before is a PITA, yep but I'll be doing it the back end of the day when it's hopefully a little quieter.

Good luck chaps, I'm doing the Hyde Park olympic the following Sunday. Undertrained and overweight as usual.
I've been offered a place for that but it's yet another 80-odd quid.... as much as I want to go for it the sensible bit of me says leave it, I've got a couple of other events before the year's out so will just concentrate on training for those...
Good luck all. I've done the London (Excel) triathlon the last 2 years, and, through a combination of factors, I've decided I'll not likely do it again.
After several emails they allowed me to rack Sunday as it was impossible to rack on the Saturday, so might be worth sending an email if it causes you trouble. If I do end up doing it again I should be (subject to availability) in the sub 2.30 group, so guaranteed a morning start and same day racking.
I'm doing Hyde Park this year, and I've heard the cycle is 3km long, so out goes the chance of a PB!

I'm hoping for sub 1:20, with estimated splits of 16:00 / 35:00 / 22:00 giving me 7mins for transitions. However, with the wave sizes being so big it's dificult to know how much you'll be slowed down by the other traffic. A sub 2:30 Olympic is my goal for next year. This is only the 3rd tri I have done so wanted to test the water with some sprints this year before going on to do Olympic. I'm hoping to do Hever Castle in Sept which is kind of mid way between a sprint and olympic distance (800m / 40k / 8k) so should be a nice step up without going double the distance
Good luck with your sub 2:30 attempt. That would be an awesome acheivement!

Superb - this is better than getting on the "list" at Whiskey Mist
My race number is 10008 and I'm racing at 14:55 (wave 19)
She'll recognise me as the only competitor on a li-lo....
I've forwarded the relevant information. I'm not sure how "official" your time will be mind...

Well done - good effort!
Hyde Park - I know 2 tickets that are available for the Buckingham Palace olympic route on Sunday. Any takers? Cost is £80-ish. This is the same route that the 2012 olympics will use, so you can be a part of history saying you finished before the olympic champion (by jumping the start by 1 year)!
