How to better climb hills without any hills to practice on
Discussion
Coming from Lincolnshire I don't really get much of an oportunity to practice climbing hills, so therefore when out on a group ride in an area where there are actual real hills I tend to struggle.
Other than MTFU how can I adapt my normal ride-out's to help me when the time comes to battle a hill or two?
This is MTB by the way not road.
TIA

Whatever you've got that best resembles a hill - ride up it fast in top gear.
^^^^ that's what I do. We moved from Yorkshire where every ride felt like a mountain pass to Skegness where a bump in the road passes for a serious hill. It's hard to get the same "burn" and stress in your legs but you can simulate the anerobic effort/breathlessness by sprinting up the short hills.Brian
