Childrens Cycling Helmets - Opinions?

Morning all

For those of you with small children, I'd really appreciate 5 minutes of your time to look at some cycle helmets I'm thinking of stocking for one of my businesses.

I honestly think that every one of those helmets would scare the bejeebuz out of the HalfPints. They tend towards nice little pink helmets which are lacking in scary eyes.

I don't understand how the protrusions (fin teeth etc) can do anything but reduce safety by concentrating the forces of an impact on a single point. Just go with some well known brands like Met or Giro. And if you want some specific outlandish design then paint them on rather than form them.

IMO the outter shells are nothing to do with protection of your head and are just there to cover up the less attractive Polystrene that does the real work. Generally they are paper thin as well and crumble like a dry leaf in an accident.

I'd be real careful about painting or sticking things to a helmet though, unless you're 100% sure the paint and glue types won't adversly effect the polystrene which is very susptible to fumes and offgassing.

They all look funky and fun. If they encourange kids to wear a lid then the designs are good. In fact, make them big enough and I'd have one.

I echo the comments above about protrusions though - might not endorse the shark design on that basis. The others are OK though.

We can get them in Adult sizes too!
