Schwalbe Rocket Ron

Looking for some winter tyres for my Cube SL Cross Race. The 23 roadies I have on it at the moment are very prone to punctures, so I need a sturdier tyre. It originally came with Schwalbe Kojaks, but I don't fancy my chances on slicks and wet icy roads.

Anybody used the Rocket Rons?

Slicks work fine in the rain: speeds are too low for tread to make any difference. Ice, only spikes will work, and even then, you're still going down.

If it's a winter tyre you're after, then Vittoria Open Paves. Accept no substitute.
