Turbo trainer that runs on the rim not the tyre.

Some one had a link to one and I'm buggered if I can find it!

As the nights draw in blah blah blah I'd like to get a turbo trainer but one that runs off the rim/brake surface rather than munching the tyre. Someone was raving about one?????

Cheers chaps in advance..

Seems like a rubbish idea to be would much rather wear out a £20 turbo training tyre that a much more expensive rim/wheel!

Rather than narrow your options down to one or two, opt for a normal trainer and fit a trainer-specific tyre.

Buy/find a spare cheap rear wheel with a cheap tyre.

Do not run a turbo trainer on the rim. I have had a rim split at the weld and it is not pleasant, do not take the risk.

That seems to be an idea looking for a problem. Just use an old tyre off your road bike. If you don't have any worn out tyres, go ride your bike some more!
