BMX'ers hating MTB'ers?

I was riding back from university yesterday, and I was going past this skate park at a fairly decent pace, as I would on most days usually, and did a little drop off a verge onto the cycle path. When I was inundated with insults, most notably "helmet head", and had stones thrown at me, when one of the scumbags up ahead of me, ran out and kicked me in the leg as I rode past. The next thing I notice is that about 10 of them are trying to chase me on their bikes, just very glad that the kick didn't knock me off the bike.

Anyone else experienced this?

P.S. I may have inadvertently flicked them a couple of fingers after the stone throwing.

Ah Skate Parks, Skaters hate InLiners, inliners hate BMX'ers and everyone hates Razor scooter riders.

That said this lot seem to be usual chav scum more than represenitive of BMXers per se.

As a BMXer who does ride park once in a while I can definately say these people were not 'BMXer's' they were chavs that happened to be on 'BMX' shaped bikes.
I've never seen any aggression from any rider to the rider of any different type of bike, in fact most riders I know ride a number of different type bikes.

We occasionally go up to some bmx tracks on our MTB's, never had any problems, we even swap bikes for a lap or two...

Most nomal people have respect for each and every sport. Must be some sort of 80's revival of the BMX Bandits with a chav scum 2011 twist.

Yes, probably just chavs I guess, might be an anti-student thing. I'll take a different route from now on anyway, I can't be bothered with having to deal with that again.
