I can find these stupid, cheap pieces of crap....

I've been through 2 of these already in the last 6 months because the plastic pinger gradually just bends out of shape when used daily. irked

Or I can find things like this....

Nice though it is, it would just clash horribly with my bike's colour scheme! furious

Why on earth can't I just find a plain metal bell like the bottom one? I've tried Wiggle, Evans, CRC, a couple of different LBS, and nothing. All they have is these two variants.

WTF is going on????

Don't bother.. get one of these they are 115 Decibels loud, the bottle sits in a standard bottle cage and the horn clips onto the handlebars like a bell it recharges via a standard bicycle pump valve and lasts for about 30+ blasts. They will honestly make car/lorry drivers jump and pedestrians vapourise via the sonic boom.yikes

Ah, that's what I'm after, thanks!

I wonder why none of the bike specialist websites stock then?

I had a klaxon when I was a kid. Big black bulb. Looked like it had fallen off a De Dion Bouton. But it worked. hehe

It's the same with helmets, there are just two, and that's it.

I'm new to this cycling thing, but I've found that whilst there is a huge amount of choice for bicycles, there is almost no choice with regard to accessories, such as helmets, or in this case, bells.

My bike came with one of those 'pingy' bells, and I too went looking for a normal bell. Halfords sell them.

Anyway, I find simply shouting at folks much better.
