MTB Winter Eyewear

Im just wandering what you guys do regarding eye wear during the winter months? I went out for my first proper night ride the other night, and although im pretty happy with my light setup, i could see next to nothing after the first couple of miles as my glasses had got covered in sh*te and i couldnt get them clean again!

I found that I couldn't wipe them on anything as i was covered head to toe in mud and it just smeared them and made the situation worse. I tried cleaning them with water from my camelback but then they just steamed up! Ended up just taking them off in the end and spent the rest of my ride squinting away trying not to get cow sh*t in my eyes....!

Anyone got any good tips, cos this is going to really put me off riding at night when its wet / muddy (99% of the time oop north im afraid.....!)

crud catcher??
I admit they make your bike look naff but they hit the spot in the gloop especially coupled with an elasticy gizmo between the forks

I use cheap safety glasses, still suffer from the same issues as you - don't think you can get away from smeary glasses when its wet/muddy.

I have a Mucky Nutz bender fender which is great at reducing the 'flick back' of mud, puddles etc - looks much better than a crud catcher - and IMHO works better;





Bought mine from 'Charlie the bikemonger' but I think there are plenty of people selling them on flebay. . . . . .
