Best punture resistant tyres ?

Just wondering what peoples views/ recommendations are on this subject

I ran a pair of Schwalbe Marathon Plus on my MTB for a few hundred miles. I do a mix of road and cross country.

2 rear punctures due to thorns and the sidewalls developed small bulges. Took them back for a refund.

Currently running Continental Travel Contact and they are better in every way. Smoother ride on the road, lighter, less rolling resistance, reasonable grip on trails. No issues with these tyres and I would recommend them.

They do "hum" a bit (sounds like a swarm of bees are following you) but I would choose the Conti's over the Marathons every time.

Any alternatives/ opinions ?

I ran Conti Touring plus for >4000 miles with no punctures, and managed to do 300km on the puncture protection strip after i wore them out and didn't have a chance to get to a bike shop. In terms of puncture resistance, they have a better record for me than Marathon Plus (1 puncture - a screw went right through). However, they weigh about a kilo each!

Well I run Stan's (now Joe's) No Tubes and have no problems with punctures.

I am running various combinations, UST with solution, Stan's Kit with no inner tubes, and one set of wheels with inner tubes, but Stan's in the tubes.

What punctures? You just need to top the fluid up every so often.

I have used slime inner tubes with slime inserts and never had a problem riding over broken glass strewn canal paths.
