k. Nothing good will come of it - if he gets banned he'll appeal and it will drag on even longer. If he gets let off the UCI, the Spanish cycling federation and WADA will look ridiculous and as though they have little control over doping regulation.
The only winners are the lawyers.

When all this started I was ready to give AC the benefit of the doubt but the more he detail he adds the more unrealistic his defense sounds. Blood transfusion does seem to fit well with the known facts and I can't believe that CAS are refusing to hear evidence for the theory. If they let this go then they might as well just hand out syringes in the musettes at the feeding stations.

Now the prosecutors aren't allowed to have their expert witness give testimony on one of the key points of the case (the defense is that only one of the two samples contained the plasticisers; the expert witness was to testify/demonstrate that the alleged second transfusion didn't require a bag that would leave plasticisers).
Add to that the iffiness of the judge hanging about at seminars in Spain at the same time as Contador's lawyers...
It stinks.

Sorry, the whole sorry saga reflects poorly on all concerned. What was the Spanish Prime Minister doing getting involved??

Apparently the 2-year ban is essentially back-dated, so he's only got to wait until August to make his return, but will lose all results since the test.
That means that, technically, Andy Schleck won the 2010 TdF and Michele Scarponi won the 2011 Giro (not that they'll probably care that much).

I'm gutted that he is guilty because he is an amazing rider and still had/has so many more Grand Tour wins to accomplish.
For all those years that people went on about Armstrong dominating every Tour de France and cycling being irreversibly tainted and shamed due to drugs speculation - look at the fall out since he left! That's two Tour de France winner's that they've had to reverse engineer.

gutted for Wiggo, how brilliant would it have been to see him on the podium in 2010 after his efforts in the mountains? how much more valuable would Shleck and Wiggo be as a riders and Sky as a team?, in fact you could go sao fasr as to say would Leopard have even existed had schleck won in 2010? a terrible state of affairs really, the UCI need to get much better at resolving these issues in an appropriate time...
