why so many punctures?

I know the answer really - broken glass on the canal towpath, broken glass on the side of the road. I thought my kevlar tyres would make a difference, but at the moment it feels a bit like they aren't kevlar but tissue paper.
Would it help running the tyres a little lower pressure? I'm running at 95 - 100 psi at the moment.

I shall attempt a useful, sensible suggestion.
Continental Tyres. That is all.
(all the family are now on them - 2 road bikes, one on Gatorskins, one on Grand Prix 4 Seasons, a ladies commuter, and a Giant MTB converted for the Uni commute onto 26" road style tyres, none of them have had any problems through the winter, all in regular use. All of the bikes are run with their tyres inflated toward the upper end of their recommended inflation pressures. When replacement time comes, I will be looking into what they offer for 'proper' off road tyres for the other 2 bikes in the garage too. HTH)

How very dare you! Actually am slowly losing weight thanks to 5 mile / day Brompton canal towpath rides, but having had 4 months of puncture free riding I thought Kevlar tyres were the dog's dangly bits. The last 2 months have seen loads of punctures though. aclivity said:

Are you sure you've removed the offending article from the tyre? It's not puncturing at the same place each time is it?I had this and it turned out to be the metal bead in the tyre had got loose and under the pressure of inflation was sticking sharply into the tube. Couldn't see it when deflated off the rim! Shouldn't be a problem with a kevlar tyre, but maybe some glass or something stuck on the inside? Or a loose spoke?

I have been riding on michelin krylion carbon's for a good 6+ months without a single puncture, usually running at 110 psi. I replaced a set of Vittoria Zaffiro's that came on the bike and got a puncture if I even said the word glass.
I tend to ride clear of the gutters, and have not turned a wheel off of the road which may have something to do with my luck, but I really do recommend the Krylions as a resilient tyre.

Many repitive punctures come down to a problem with the bike. Is a spoke end rubbing the 'tube? Is all the glass / thorns / crap removed from the tyre? Is the tyre worn out? Is there a rough patch on the inside of the wheel rim? Has the original puncture been repaired properly? Is the tyre pressure wrong? Is the valve full of rubbish? etc etc etc...
