And it looks like Bradley Wiggins is using an oval big crank ring on his bike. Any ideas? Has Biopace come back?
Wiggo uses O Symetric rings:http://www.osymetric.com/
It's not uncommon in the modern peloton these days. Rotor Q-Rings are also popular.
I had a Biopace chainset, it was no better than a standard one. This explains why:
http://www.highpath.net/ says "Biopace-type rings: These gave Ovals a bad name in the 1980's because their crank offsets orientated them back-to-front on upright bicycles. This gave a higher gear to push through the dead-spots instead of a lower one, making matters worse, not better!"
