Secondhand groupset, false economy?
Discussion
So on the new (old) build I have found an SRAM red at around £500. It is supposed to be low miles etc, etc but I will have no idea if it is perfect until it is installed, which is a bit late. You're Talking £500 then adding a new BB and some brakes (they aren't part of the deal) which means it's more like £625. There are deals on new DA7900 out there for £1000 and Ultegra for £500. It all seems like a bonkers amount of money/reducing gains over new middle of the road kit?
The only thing I dont want is Campagnolo. SRAM would be new for me and I like the ergonomics. Shimano has been good and despite an episode with a Tiagra shifter it seems more like the fit and forget option I would like.
Everything is too much money!!

found a tt/tri groupset for £510 http://www.slanecycles.com/shimano-ultegra-6700-tt... but the sti shifters set is £649
Good link
Looks like I am going with SRAM, never tried it but want to give it a go, it all depends on the current bike selling as to when it can happen. I was cleaning it up last night and started to become quite attached to it. If it doesn't meet the reserve I might just have to make some more room

Have you ordered from them and how much shipping fees, import duty and tax did you pay as they are USA based?http://www.eurobikeparts.com/proddetail.php?prod=S...
I paid £625 for Sram Force from Shiny Bikes and they sent the BB30 chainset in error not the GXP. had i bought from a US internet retailer, that would have been a massive ball ache, as it was, one phone call and a few days later it was sorted... personally its not worth the risk for £100 if you have to take into account postage, import taxes and the "will it all arrive present and correct" factor
