Hi guys,

Quick question on using energy bars and gels past their sell by date?

Essentially I stopped weekend road riding back end of last year but I'm back ontop of it and after refreshing my bike, with new tape, Swiss stop blocks and some new hope tech wheels I've looked at my food stores and got a dozen or so zipvit and torq bars gels that are 2-3 months out of date shall I put it down to £20 down the drain or could I use them? Not sure what can go off but certainly don't want to find out 50 miles into a ride..... biggrin

I'd use them, I mean what could have happened to them in 2-3 months?

Whoa there fella. You don't want to eat them.

PM me for an address to send for "safe" disposal.

I'm getting a hint of sarcasm guys.....

So I should be fine then? Just didn't know what is essentially caffeine and sugar past it's sell by date would do to me.....

Look at it this way - you can preserve things in sugar!
