I got one last year, this exact time of year, from Lidl.

It lasted about 3 goes.

So now I have a Botranger one that can do more than 100 psi

Track pump - ok
Jerseys - sound
Computer - wait for the aldi bikemate ones, much better
Multitool - lots of pointless bits and must be made out of plutonium for the weight, but at the price, worth having.
Summer gloves - so so
Glasses - they seem to vary in style. Had 3 sets - one had iridium style lenses, far too dark. 1 set sound and 1 set genuinely a bit stylish

I bought one last year as a 'hope for the best' purchase, my old computer was knackered and at £15 I thought what's the worst that can happen. Well, the hrm monitor measured my HR at +200 at one point, the speedo was intermittent at best and it took three button presses to cycle through every menu.

One word. Avoid.

Halfords do a range of basic cycle computers, don't they? I seem to recall it's not too badly priced either.

(When looking for my Garmin 500, which ok in fairness is not a cheap thing, but Halfords were actually the cheapest, via their website, that I could find outside of eBay)

Ah, mine are the £5 variant without a heart rate monitor. Done about 4000 miles in all weathers over about 3 years and not so much as had to change a battery yet. Potholes can be a pain with the magnet / fork leg locations but thats a given with any speedo I've found

I thought it was just for working on, rather than storage?

Evans do a few different storage options for walls/ceilnings etc. Have a browse through them.

Agreed on the shorts - those, the water bottle are definites - the tool kit in the bag could be handy, as I hate the rattling I get from the current bag being way too big.

If I had any sense I'll get the pannier bag, which will be handy for commuting, but I do quite enjoy having a mildly huge rucksack full of rubbish on my back.

I was considering the £35 tool kit as I now have a bike stand and am starting to fettle the bikes a bit more. Plan on building Sarah a new one this summer.

Is the tool kit crap/lacking some items? Or is it ok for starters?

I would have thought remembering your gt4 exploits you had enough tools already for typical bike maintenance.

I wouldn't get the toolkit - not a fan of plastic tyre levers, and the multitool can be had seperately.

All I tend to use so far for bike tools is a chain rivet tool, a set of allen keys, screwdrivers and a leatherman. I've had to borrow a BB tool once but thats it..

Where did you see that, I can't find it? Sounds good as I too have a bike stand and so want to do more!

I have many tools. Some of which have been used.

Looks like it doesn't contain crank extractors and the like. Probably not a lot of use (I have most of the stuff in this one covered)
