Anyone been to Bedgebury Forest recently?

As per the title really... I went a few years back (fairly shortly after they'd first put the trails, I think) and I'm thinking about heading back down there next weekend. Just wondered if it had progressed much?

Usually do it once a week, as it's 2 miles from my house, I'd say it depends on your ability level, it's classed as a red but in reality I'd say it's a blue/tame red. They do seem to ruin it whenever the trails get rutted they gravel them over to smooth them out! The jump bit is ok and they've taken down the high level north shore stuff.
I'm pleased it's on my door setp but I'd be more inclined to head to the Surry Hills from North London.

I'm there most weekends as I live very close.

Its good though as previously stated its not going to challenge the more technical rider.

That said it does offer miles of uninterrupted single-track.

I do quite like the idea of riding some proper man-made trails for once rather than just fox tracks or footpaths.

Just looked on the map and I have to confess didn't realise how much closer Wendover/Aston Clinton is to me, but one of my MTBing friends lives in Bromley, so he's obviously keener to go to Bedgebury. Hmm.

Just got back from a quick lap this morning and it's currently nice and dry so you can ride it pretty quickly which makes it a bit more interesting, given what you said in you latest posy I'd imagine you'll have a good time there.

I am more than up for the technical stuff, I should add. I just don't like riding natural trails that peter out or suddenly end in a shrub or a fence!

As I mentioned earlier, might be worth a trip to Surry there's some brilliant riding there, Leith Hill, Pitch hill etc.

My mate couldn't make it in the end, so rather than going further afield I just went to Broxbourne Woods this morning. The trails there are in the best state I've ever ridden them. Looks like plenty of people have been riding there recently, so some which were overgrown and badly defined previously almost look like man-made trails now.

Anyone else ride in that area?
