Team GB skinsuit: to be seen on the road?!

Was off out to the peaks cycling up the A6 yesterday evening when I saw a guy gunning it in the opposite direction... wearing what appeared to be an all-in-one team GB lycra skinsuit. I'm all for a bit of lycra but is wearing a skinsuit out for your daily ride a bit extreme?! Or are there team GB members training in the area...?

Probably GB, most are based in Manchester, I see them out in kit all the time.

I've been out a couple of times recently in the Surrey Hills and seen a group of about 8 - 10 riders in head to toe identical team Sky kit, which got me wondering a similar thing.

Was he quick? Does anybody wear skin suits for road riding unless they're time trialling in a race?
