i own one, i like it, built it up with campy veloce and mavic aksiums for less than 1k, looks great with red and white paint scheme and white saddle/tape etc and did 1700 miles in a year with no problems.....people with much more cycling knowledge than me rate it and i cant find fault with it.
Before it i had a planet x kaffenback which is steel and before that a boardman hybrid which is alu, all 3 bikes rode very differently, the genesis is by far the most enjoyable, i think asking for a comparison is not going to mean too much e.g. the cannondale caads will be very different from the ribble winter frame, both are aluminium.....the thing i noticed most between the kaffenback and the equilibrium was the carbon fork not any perceived flex in the bb etc when i put down my meagre power sprinting through the line (traffic lights).

There's just as much - if not more - in the build, the geometry etc. than there is the the material.
I have both steel and aluminium road bikes. The latter is a CAAD9, so about as racey, stiff and uncompromising as you can get for said material. Slap some nice wide tyres (Vitoria Open Paves), run them at an appropriate pressure and IMO there's barely any difference in comfort/feel when compared against the steel bike. Mind you, that is a fixed wheel, so my attention is elsewhere when riding!

king Campag specific tools) to arrive. Gone for Veloce, Mavic Open Pros on Miche hubs with Michelin Krylion Carbon tyres, Miche brakes, Nito noodle bars and a Velo Orange stem.
Should look nice once it's done. It's getting black saddle and tape as she already had a saddle, but eventually want s brown B17s and brown tape.

I've got a Colnago Superissimo, steel Columbus tubing. It's red so it's fast anyway. But, my Cannondale SuperSix is so much more nippy. I use the Coly for winter rides, but as soon as the sun comes out, it's 'dale time.
I have light steel Kona mountain bikes too (Kilas and Explosifs), and a Rocky Mountain Blizzard. Steel is definitely my choice of hardtail MTB.
