I've just been sent this link....
http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/...

It made me cry a little.
Can anyone find a worse "mountain bike" that can be bought new?

Picture taken in a Tesco (not by me).

You can't reach the brake levers, but that doesn't really matter since not a whole lot is going to happen were you to manage it!

It annoys me how they advertise cheap mountain bikes as if they're the most amazing things in the world, when in reality they're going to fall apart within months.

I like the "chien sheng suspention" (I didn't change the spelling) and "Ningbo power industries top pull".

This, type of thing, leads me to the one positive I can take out of Mountain Biking and especially downhill being largely ignored by mainstream media.

If DH was an Olympic sport, we Brits would have more than a fair crack of a medal in both Men's and Women's, and this alone is enought to get it on the nightly Olympic round-up-show, and like the local tennis court after Wimbledon and the snooker club after a big tournement the DH trails would be crammed with keen armchair experts all sporting brand new BSO's all advertised as the greatest thing to wear two bands of rubber. Shortly after the hills would be alive with the sound of pain and suffering, the H&S and insurance people would suddenly discover us and that would be it.
