Clarkson starts singing Copenhagen's praises, normally lefty BBC starts going on about not paying road tax, and my simplistic worldview is being shattered. What next? Will Xsara Picassos start being driven by attentive and careful drivers? Will a car finally beat a bike round the Isle of Man TT course? Will roadieeeeee learn roadcraft?

Answers on the back of a postcard please tongue out (no idea what this thread is supposed to be about, just amused me). On the minus side, and completely unrelated, I went out this lunchtime, and seem to be continually getting slower frowncry

Does opposite week extend to starting threads in the opposite location to where they should be, or have I missed something which makes this relevant to cycling! hehe

Any chance of a link to these events? I could do with a read.

links added to OP. Can't really decide if the reporter is playing devil's advocate/voicing popular opinion, or is just very behind on the news (75-odd years - do let me know if BBC East Midlands announces 'peace in our time' anytime soon...), either way seems a bit insensitive following someone's death. I'm sure he wouldn't have brought it up if it was a pedestrian killed.

Anyway, continuing opposite week, I went out today, flew up hills, slow down them :S the wind must've been something to do with it. Also drew many admiring glances of my toned physique from pretty girls :P. And found a spelling error in a telegraph article on MAMILs, has dumbing down gone too far?

The difference between good journos and bad is, the good ones play devil's advocate but state that they are. They know their audience isn't daft. I don't particularly like John Humphries but he rarely assumes the listeners are too thick to appreciate he is taking a particular side to elicit a response. There's no such concession in the tone of that BBC interviewer.
