Well I sold my stumpjumper that I built from bits last year and after some twiddling and looking about I have just bought a few years old but no less awesome S Works Carbon Epic.

A tad excited? I think so.. Lots of XTR, lots of carbon, SID's.. pics as soon as it arrives!

Do these have the "brain" rear shock? Did Specialized persist with these? I rode one once about 9yrs ago and it blew my mind.

You notice any flexing with those rotors?

How good is the brain? never experienced one and always been interested.

Why are the frames different between these two bikes? I prefer the design of the OP's but I google the bike, only get images like the second bike pictured.

Isn't the OP's an epic, and the other a stumpjumper? Different frames as different bikes for different types of riding. Stumpjumper may have more travel depending on age.

Do a search for an S Works Epic Carbon 2006 and it'll bring up quite a few turns out buying from Guernsey is a complete PITA! :S

Still hopefully sorted now...
