Not sure if any of you chaps completed the Exmoor beauty at the weekend, but if you did congratulations!!
The weather was somewhat nasty, so those fellas that decided to do it on full carbon Zipp wheels; aside from being insane to think they were a good idea in those conditions on that route, must have been really s
tting bricks on the descent off Dunkery Beacon in the wet...I was on normal wheels, but was still having a hard time scrubbing off speed on the hairpins, not to mention getting blown around in the cross winds on the top of Exmoor!!
The times are posted on the web site now and it looks like my time was just outside the top 40 so not too bad considering the conditions, my lack of condition and doing it solo with a long stop at the feedstation. If i hadn't done that should have been a bit higher up, but still a way off the guys who finished at the very front, who posted some insane times.
