Hope front bulb QR to 20mm maxle?

Is it possible to convert the hope bulb to a 20mm axle?

Ive stripped down the hub and found this conversion kit but its for the newer pro 2 front hub.

Also surely it would need some sort of bearing as well?

I hope so else its a new front hub for me then.

That little lot boarders on 40sheets! I think I would be better off getting a second hand one off ebays?

There are lots of drawings and part No.s etc on www.hopetech.com they may be of use, or you could email them. It's such a shame they don't sell from the factory, it's within cycling distance from me!

It seems you need No4 'HUB416' which looks end cap things, the bearing No.s, hub and spacer tube are the same on the two drawings

yes had found that you can get a 20mm converion for the pro 2 hub which looks almost identical to the bulb.

The original bearings wont fit the 20mm axle though so i assume you need the spacers and bearings?

just had another look at the hub and it would seem that the spacer tube is fitted already.

so I guess I would need the outer spacers and the bearings to convert it.

I converted my very old Hope BigUn hub last year to 20mm and it was pop the old bearings out and replace with new bearings and outer spacers and worked a treat. The only problem i have is there isn't a groove to sit a circlip in to keep the spacers together when you remove the wheel but not a huge problem.

Managed to find a bulb conversion kit on ebay and the bearings from a pro 2 hub have the same part code.

Should be here by next week so will see how it goes.
