Les Gets is now open at the weekends, so i'll probably go and check out the new trails as soon as they dry up!
I live in Chamonix, which is also worth the trip if you fancy an away day from Morzine..

I guess we just picked a bad week. I'm a bit rubbish to be honest so it just ruined the entire week. The "Dans le Gaz" run down into Les Gets was essentially one long mud chute. Me and 5 mates sliding on our arses down it, desparately holding onto our bikes, must have been quite a sight from the town.Really hoping we get the same, trails were so fast and dusty.

We did Les Gets and Morzine for 7 days and it pissed it down the whole time, 3 days later the Tour came through and it was gorgeous sunshine. I had just bought a new bike and it went back to the shop for its 1 month service and they said I had changed all the drive train for old stuff. I only had a front disc at the time and in a week I did 2 sets of Hope pads and a 10 sets of rear V brake pads. Did Chamonis a year later and love the trails, the guide we had knew his stuff.Really wanted to go though to make up for last years wash out. Nope - have never come up short.
If it gives you more confidence, put in a pedal stroke or two, but the point is you don't need lots of speed to clear it..

t my pants is the river gap further down the trail (under the chair on your way back up). You need plenty of speed for that one!

I'm off for a re-match with Les Arcs next month, but will be toning down the exuberance after last year's bone-crunching antics. Roll well everyone and come back with some good stories and pics but in one piece!
