How do I pump this up?

Thanks for that.
Any links for where we can get hold of said 'fitting'?
As said, most pumps have two fittings, or alternatively you can undo the pump head and turn round the part that depresses the valve on a schraeder type valve. Any links for where we can get hold of said 'fitting'?
For the full experience you need to pump it up in a hamfisted manner, resulting in the valve core being bent and not sealing.

Just one question, can you get a converter at all to use a standard car tyre type compressor?
Yes, it's a little brass thing you screw onto the valve first,or maybe screw into the pump, one or the other!http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?Mod...

Generally not a great idea as they pump so vigourously the air gets quite hot which can lead to the tube exploding or the actual pressure being a lot lower than the intended pressure after the temps get back down to normal.
Is that the same for those compressor things at garages that generally use an air reservoir?Yep, though the bursting tubes is more likely with the high pressures on a road bike, i've done it a few times on the MTB after i'd punctured so as long as the pressure isn't too high it shouldn't be a problem. If it's a powerful compressor it may still lead to pressures much lower than those specified.
