Anyone been or know someone who has?

I see the Atherton’s are raving about it on twitter (probably because they're paid to), but the official site is very light on info on the actual trails other than the amount of them.

Looking for somewhere with life accessible trails (not all nuttercrazybdhardcore) freeride, stuff - basically I'd like Whistler/Les Gets & Chattel Bike Park type riding with the weather of Whistler with the travelling expense of the Alps. I hear Pila is meant to have a great climate, but is low on trails and the ones they have are quite hardcore DH style.

cant help other than to say that the white room chalet in Sainte Foy is in some way connected (owned?/run?) by someone on Single track world. havent been but its a plan for 2013, well worth a look, they do guided xc trips, chairlift trips and look pretty flexible to combine the two.

Pila does have some full on stuff but it is all rideable and can be as gnarr as you want it to be. I'd say it was good for a long weekend (3-days) worth of riding. There's only 8 or 9 runs at the top but they are interlinked so you can pick and mix on your way down. On the right side it's in the woods, loamy, rooty stuff and on the left its the DH stuff.

The you have the 11km run down to Aosta. That has options on the way down so you can mix things up. We didn't go during this year's alps visit but we've got it penned in for next year's trip.

I got back from Morzine on Saturday and can't say enough good things about it.
There are tons of DH stuff but also loads of trail / track riding too.

Cheers,

Love the run to aosta. Full on single track. Fast as you like, loads of dust. Proper hot on valley floor though!
